Baby
Madison Danielle is here! She weighed 7 pounds
15 oz. and was 20.5 inches long!
She
came 7 days early by a scheduled induction due to chronic hypertension throughout entire pregnancy.
April 21, 2006 8:18 p.m.
No complications to report! Entered hospital at
noon-ish with no Cx and only about 2 cm. dilated. Membranes stripped at approx. 1 p.m. (Baby did not like and
heartrate hid and dropped. Oxygen used, water broken, and all went back to normal!) Cx began mildly and intermittently.
Pitocin used gradually at increasingly consistant intervals. Nubain (sp?) was the sedative. Epidural was called,
but all anesthesiologists in the hospital were booked in surgery...No one made it until it was all over! Only 2 minutes
of pushing...I couldn't tell when she was coming cuz all the Cx felt the same--no pressure...Just boom and I was suddently
10 cm. and she was there! My mom, husband, and husband's sister (Bridget) were all in the room with me for the full
labor and delivery!
And here's Alexander James' birth story...
Alexander was born at 8:33 p.m. on September 1, 2004. It was a scheduled induction, but Mommy went into labor on
her own beginning at about 7:00 p.m. on August 31st. The pitocin wasn't used until about 2 p.m. on September 1st.
He was 8lbs. 9 oz. and 20 1/2 in. long. Mommy didn't have an epidural, just a mild sedative to take the edge off.
Lamaze techniques were quite a success! Back labor was very intense but Mommy had good coaches and masseuses!
